Public response to media and healthcare coverage of H1N1
What’s On Your Mind?:

Canadian researchers conducted a study of public response and views about H1N1 news and announcements. See the full report here - http://www.plosone.org/article/info%3Adoi%2F10.1371%2Fjournal.pone.0018479

The researchers found 7 common themes which the public focused on: (1) fear of H1N1; (2) responsibility of media; (3) government competency; (4) government trustworthiness; (5) fear of H1N1 vaccine; (6) pharmaceutical companies; and (7) and personal protective measures.

Did your department's H1N1 response address these 7 areas, or did you focus on other topics that you thought would be more relevant to helping the public protect themselves from the flu? How should local public health address each of the 7 common themes in the event of another pandemic influenza event?
