[GRANT/FUNDING] $5m in Post-Sandy Planning Grants Available
What’s On Your Mind?:

New Jersey Department of Community Affairs announced that it would make $5 million in grants available to support long-range planning initiatives in counties and municipalities affected by Hurricane Sandy. The money comes from the federal Community Development Block Grant -Disaster Recovery program.

The funding will be available to Atlantic, Bergen, Cape May, Essex, Hudson, Middlesex, Monmouth, Ocean and Union Counties, and all municipalities within those counties that have sustained a ratable loss attributable to Sandy of at least 1% or $1 million, and demonstrate how assistance will lead to greater community resilience.

A mandatory orientation to learn about the application process and conditions of award will be held for governments meeting the application criteria and intending to apply. That meeting will take place at 2 p.m. on June 26, 2013 in the Department of Community Affairs building located at 101 South Broad Street, Trenton, New Jersey in Room 640.
